Living in a tiny apartment in the town center of West Hartford, CT, we have no private outdoor space to call our own--Which is both sad and quite wonderful too! It forces us to venture out to the local parks, town center, and beautiful hiking trails. We interact with our neighbors, meet the most interesting people from all over the world, and discover the loveliest secret corners as we wander the streets of our city. However, sometimes we just want a private outdoor space to grow a garden and enjoy a few cocktails and some music.
My parents, living in a city center as well, have created the most magical urban garden. Every evening is spent in the space, they even carry out their mattress on cool summer evenings and sleep under the stars! Here is a glimpse into their secret urban garden...
The space is filled with beautiful flowers, re-purposed farm equipment as planters, vintage wicker furniture, and a lush vegetable garden. We love this magical space which provides my parents an urban escape, where just past the tall wooden fences lie farmers markets, movies in the park across the way, and people blissfully unaware of the secret garden just above.
Salut!
